LAKE STREET PARK
OPENED JULY 2004
All of Shane’s Inspiration’s playgrounds are inspired by the community. It is the ideas, dreams and goals of children and parents that bring a play space to life.
This small community playground was inspired by one tree…a stately ficus tree that has become central to the history of this neighborhood near MacArthur Park in Downtown Los Angeles.
Children of all abilities will be able to explore and pretend in a series of shaded cottages, which are connected by ramps. Each path leads to the central tree house…a taller, interactive play space that brings a sense of adventure and fun to children of all abilities! After visiting the grand tree, take a trip on a curvy slide or shout out to your friend at the other end of the playground through a bright, wavy talk tube.
This Universally Accessible Playground was made possible thanks to the incredible commitment of the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
