Overlooking a beautiful, tranquil lake, Prado Regional Park’s unique Universally Accessible Playground design weaves elements of the lush natural landscape into its playful and cool design.
Toddlers can sail away in their sturdy and fully-accessible boat while school-age children discover the lost Water Island in the shade of swaying palm trees. A Zero-Depth Water Play Zone, designed by Water Play, offers hours of wet and wild fun for children of all abilities.
In the middle of this aquamarine world lies the real treasure…a sensory wall embedded with water creatures (turtles, fish, frogs) that splash, ribbit, and squirt. Combining a variety of textures, running water, and sound, the sensory wall provides hours of delight and discovery.
Shane’s Inspiration is grateful for the combined efforts of the San Bernardino County Regional Parks Department and the community of Chino, who brought this project to life. It is the 1st Universally Accessible Playground to open in San Bernardino, offering inclusion and laughter to the more than 18,000 children with disabilities who live there.
