This evening of magic and comedy will recognize the contributions of these honorees: The Community Leadership Award For their unyielding commitment to serving children of all abilities, we honor Lucinda and Craig Piligian. These two leaders are whom Margaret Mead spoke of when she said, “Never doubt that a group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Without the support of the Piligians over the last few years, our mission could not have made the impact it has on universal play. Their generosity over the years has allowed Shane’s Inspiration to truly change the world, one child at a time. For all they have done and continue to do to for Shane’s Inspiration, we are honored to present Lucinda and Craig with The Community Leadership Award. The Humanitarian Award Since the day he met founder Scott Williams on the set of their CBS TV show, “Crossing Jordan”, Steve Valentine has been one of our most constant supporters. This film and television actor, magician, musician never says no to a request from Shane’s Inspiration. Whether it’s hosting our Gala, serving as Grand Marshal at our Walk & Roll, playing with children on the playground, or visiting one of our Shane’s Club kids in the hospital, Steve truly gives from the heart. Beloved not only by Disney audiences for his work in “I’m in the Band”, “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie” and “Avalon High”, Steve is beloved by every Shane’s Inspiration staffer and family that has had the pleasure of spending even a few minutes with him. For his genuine efforts to improve the lives of children with disabilities and their families, we are thrilled to present Steve with The Humanitarian Award. The Inspiration Award “When you get to the end of all the light you know and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things shall happen… either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.” And fly she did. Stephani Victor possesses the most amazing spirit, will and courage. She is the reigning Paralympic Gold Medalist, World Champion, and Overall World Cup Champion. Whether Stephani is speaking to corporations, inner city schools or racing down the slopes, those around her realize Stephani Victor possesses the rarest of gifts: the ability to positively inspire, motivate and lead. And perhaps change a few lives along the way. For inspiring people of all abilities to have faith in their dreams, we joyfully honor Stephani with The Inspiration Award.
