A water-breathing dragon?...Only in the Southland. What better way to beat the heat on a summer day than to visit this unique Universally Accessible Playground at the Corona-Norco Family YMCA in Riverside – the first accessible playground of its kind in this region.

The dragon design theme serves functional purposes while inspiring a sense of wonder in both children and adults.

The nostrils of the dragon’s head contain misting nozzles to cool kids down on hot days. The dragon’s extended wings provide imaginative places to play in the shade.

The playground also features the first Shane’s Inspiration “Sensarock” – a unique texture/water/sound wall that engages a child’s senses while improving motor skills. In addition, periscopes offer the opportunity to spy on friends and gain different perspectives, talk tubes let kids chat with each other, and fabulous mazes test hand-eye coordination…all under watchful eye of the water-spraying beast.  This park is available to YMCA members.
