PRADO REGIONAL PARK
16700 SOUTH EUCLID AVE.
CHINO, CA 91710
OPENED NOVEMBER 13, 2004

Overlooking a beautiful, tranquil lake, Prado Regional Park’s unique Universally Accessible Playground design weaves elements of the lush natural landscape into its playful and cool design.

Prado_002.jpgToddlers can sail away in their fully-accessible, sturdy boat while school-age children discover the lost Water Island in the shade of swaying palm trees. A Zero-Depth Water Play Zone, designed by Water Play, offers hours of wet and wild fun for children of all abilities.

In the middle of this aquamarine world lies the real treasure…a sensory-rich water wall embedded with water creatures (turtles, fish, frogs) that splash, ribbit, and squirt Prado_003.jpgas you press different play panels. For children with development challenges such as Down Syndrome or Cerebral Palsy, sensory stimulation is a vital part of their play time. Water play is especially important for all disabilities, as it is such a rare experience.

This is the 6th Shane’s Inspiration playground to open in Southern California and the 1st in San Bernardino. Within the County, there are over 18,000 children with disabilities who now have a place to play with their friends and families.

This playground was made possible thanks to the combined efforts of the San Bernardino County Regional Parks Department, Shane's Inspiration, and the community of Chino.
