School Field Trip Program

A field trip to a Universally Accessible
Playground is far more than a day of play.

For children with special needs, a day of play in the sunshine gives them a chance to stretch their bodies and minds while being independently engaged in social activity – something that so rarely happens.

These experiences help develop self-esteem, in addition to giving the simple yet profound gift of joy.

For children with typical abilities, Shane’s Inspiration offers interactive field trips, where a typically-able class is paired with a special-needs class for a day of integrated play. During the day, the students become “buddies,” learning the indelible lessons of diversity awareness, compassion, and acceptance.

Annually, we deliver field trips to over 2,600 students and have worked with 50 different schools throughout Los Angeles County.

Join Shane’s Inspiration and schedule a School Field Trip today!

Our Community Outreach Associate, Shirley Bresnick, will help your school schedule the field trip and arrange for the necessary wheelchair accessible and standard buses for your students.

Contact Shirley at shirley@shanesinspiration.org / (818)988-5676 (Mondays) or (818)784-2711 (Tuesdays through Fridays).

Our deep thanks to the commitment of the Los Angeles City Council members for their bus allocations, which allow us to facilitate field trips - cost free to the schools and their districts.

“I have spent 15 years of my career in education at Rosemont Avenue Elementary School. I have seen my share of field trips. I can state unequivocally that the day spent at Shane’s Inspiration will go down as one of my most memorable, quite simply because the children got so much out of the experience.”

- Brad Rumble, Assistant Principal,
Rosemont Avenue Elementary School
